So,
I haven't posted anything in a long time.
The reason is that I have been working to get my innocent wife home.
That part is done.
It's not over.
More to do...
I wish I could post all of the recordings, depositions, and documents that prove this beyond any doubt. Any doubt. I can't. The legal battle is probably far from over, and I still haven't been convinced that the "battle" is one to be waged in the media. It belongs in a courtroom. Regardless whether that is naive or not, I don't give a flip.
So all I can say is thanks for your love and support and prayers.

Good that you are in a better situation today. Great to read your post, Colin. Your caution re the legal process not being over yet is understandable. But you have moved on a long long way since 2007.
And you and your family do have a lot of support - even from strangers like myself - faraway across the pond.
Please do keep believing that a slowly but surely disintegrating case against Mechele will end up where it deserves to be - in the trash can. Sitting here in England, the case has always seemed to have been characterised by a sanctimonious, almost fundamentalist "holier than thou" bigotry and sheer vindictiveness. It is this that aroused my interest in the case in the first place.
Please again accept my very best wishes and may I express the hope that you are close to the end of the nightmare.

I have read that the prosecutor is maintaining he only has a few "legal issues" to resolve before re-indicting Mechele. I don't think he can, but he can hold this cloud of suspicion over Mechele without ever doing anything. The State of Alaska has created this situation by bringing unsustainable charges against Mechele. It is not treating her with Constitution-mandated equality as long as it does this. If the State of Alaska cannot re-indict and convict Mechele, it owes her amends in the form of a letter of exoneration.
Colin I hope that things get better for you all soon. I feel your frustration.
Dear Mechele; I am so happy for you & pray the State will give you a letter of exoneration & stop this awful situation. Please keep in touch & wish I could have spent the time with you we so wanted. Give your little girl & hubby a great big hug from those of us in Alaska that love and care about you. Next time I come down to WA I will contact you to meet for lunch. Email your contact info as you already have my email ... Love you dear & good luck.... :D
Hey Colin,
Im a 30 yr old woman from Chicago, IL...Ive been following this case, and your wife's innocence is so clear...never mind the media. Trust in God, and he will take care of the rest....You remind me of my own husband, who unlike most men, would stick with me through anything no matter what..God bless you, your wife, and your daughter. Take good care..praying for you!
Hey Colin. I befriended your sweet wife to be an encouragement to her while she sat up in Alaska. In response to your post, why aren't the prosecutors heeding the DEADLINE imposed by the court to tangle up Mechele's life again? This is the most hopeful thing I've seen. A deadline is just that. Tell Mechele I'm still thinking of you guts. ; )
Colin and Mechele,
Many of us have just been shaking our heads and our fists over what your family has gone through. The man responsible for committing this terrible crime is where he should be. For a woman to be procecuted on these charges reminds me of the Salem Witch Trails. Looking for a woman, with a history, to be responsible for controlling what went on.
Our concerns and our prayers will continue to be with you. Hoping that your family will continue to stay united and strong.
Hi Mechele, Colin + family,
Greetings from NW MT! I've been following M's case for years + was literally sick w/her conviction! Praises to the appellate court for overturning her conviction by seeing the law was not appropriately applied! As a "recovering attny", it was disgusting to watch her Constitutional rights being trampled on, bigtime by Gullafson/Judge. This Prosecutor presented a sadly laughable desperate case. Having M's retrial postponed an xtra year spoke volumes of how horridly unprepared Prosecutors' office was. Given M has the right to face her accuser, I don't see how "any" correspondence from Carlin,Sr could be used; esp since he died during his appeal. Even tho appellate court ruled Leppink's "letter" couldn't be used; same rules should apply to any correspsondence from him as well. Correct/just application of the law is what U are entitled to Mechele, nothing less. Your fortitude/faith/courage is awesome! Tho ur journey has been painful, sometimes we go thru such events for others. Our difficult experiences are not only about character building + from what I've read/seen, ur's is quite admirable. My prayers/energy will continue for you/family. I look forward to meeting you + celebrating when you're exonerated! Your Montana friend...kris:)
Thanks, Kris for your kind words! We have believed for a long time everything you said! But, it is nice to hear our opinions confirmed by an attorney!!!
Congratulations to you and your family.
Colin, Its possible that they put out media coverage to draw you out and then learn about your defense. In fact with those people anything is possible. You are SO RIGHT to keep your cards close to your vest.
I agree keep your stradegies close to your vest.... praying for all of you in the Linehan family... Miss & love you Mechele... hope all is better now you are out of here... Sent you an email but haven't heard back ... think about you all the time & miss talking with you girl... Love ya
I was glad to hear -- if a bit belatedly -- about the most recent decision in the case. All my best to you and to Mechele.
Dear Mechele,
I've followed your case in the news, and read books about it. I've never thought you were guilty. I am so glad you are home where you belong. I sent you an email several months ago, and thank you for answering it. I just want to send support and friendship to you.
Sincerely,
Rebecca B
I think you have both suffered too much. Jump on a plane a find a place you can enjoy your life together without fear of future proceedings. Is it France... Cuba who cares you will both easily find work enough to support a great life the question is near wine or a beach. Enjoy.
More proof she's innocent is no attpt to flee or dodge the process
It never ceases to amaze me how people can put others in prison without 'real' proof. I really believe that it was a case of people wanting to prosecute her based on her looks. Some people are just so jealous of others that they don't care if they are right or wrong in what they are doing.
Holier than thou......their attitude.
Update us when you can
