About This Site
Free Mechele is run by friends and family of Mechele Linehan with occasional input from Mechele's husband, Colin. Mechele was convicted in October 2007 of conspiring to murder Kent Leppink. This conviction was overturned on appeal in February 2010, after she had served over 2 years in prison. Mechele is currently out on bail with heavy restrictions in Alaska, awaiting a second trial. We believe that this trial will prove her innocence, if the prosecution doesn't drop it before then due to lack of evidence.
Please be aware that this site is heavily moderated. Only positive sharing on the journey to true justice will be the focus here.

Sentencing Letters
Prior to Judge Volland's April 2008 sentence of 99 years for Mechele, numerous family, friends, and even strangers wrote letters asking for leniency based on what we know of her. We have been collecting and posting as many of these letters as we can, in order to create a more complete picture of who Mechele truly is, as seen by those closest to her. If you have a letter you'd like us to post, let us know.

I am still studing EyesForLies. How do you analyze an oracle? When this website is telling people that Mechele is guilty by just looking at her, how do you prepare a defense? The witchhunters have already made up their minds. They just know she's guilty without any further evidence. They can then re-interpret anything to show that it demonstrates her guilt regardless of the context from which the fact came. They can find anyone guilty of anything this way.
I have been reading "Reading People" by Jo-Ellan Dimitrius, Ph.D. Dr. Dimitrius provides a perspective on analyzing people's speech and behavior that puts reasonable limits on what gestures mean. It's not just a list of things to pick from to compile the results wanted.

Eyes for Lies is a major con. Nobody should take it seriously. How in the world can anybody judge guilt or innocence on the basis of body language in edited videos? It's crazy. The case against Ms. Linehan has more holes in it than a slab of Swiss cheese. I base my belief on what is known about the case, not how Mechele talks or if she sheds enough tears.
