Today was a fantastic day. I was in such heaven. I spent a wonderful four hours in bliss, aster assistance from a wonderful post office employee, who should receive postal worker of the year. Found myself choked up by her kindness and words of concern. I met the most remarkable hair expert, who I turned complete trust over to, and don’t regret it for a second. I loved it. He understood exactly what I needed and I ultimately I deferred all direction to him. He was confident, compassionate and professional. Once I told him that he really could do anything, he didn’t hesitate, took a handful of hair and chop. It was most liberating.
Audrey got her hair cut too. When I first went to HMCC, we were on the phone talking about how we both wanted to cut our hair but were waffling. We decided that when I got out we would go cut it together. Neither of us went as short as we had initially thought, although I think its best. Baby steps.
It’s still sunny outside and I feel like its 6pm, its almost 11. I tried to look at the stop signs differently today and be thankful for them. Today I am thankful to men who do hair and stop signs. Tomorrow I will try to find something new to appreciate, no matter how small. Have a good night- it’s almost over have a good day. Smile
p.s. im sending this to my mom so she can post a bit of it.

A new "do" can be most liberating, especially when in the hands of a competent professional (not to mention the yummy hair products). Enjoy every moment of pampering, you deserve it : D
Also...I agree with your favorite grocery items. The best "foods" on earth are avocados, lemons, greens and olive oil. Bon Appetite Mechele!!!
I am so glad you and Audrey are having such a wonderful time together!! Enjoy it all....
I just saw a second showing on the case and was happy they posted the new trial update info at the end of the show, because the railroad conductor wore a black robe.
Better a hundred guilty persons go free than one innocent person gets convicted and languish for a crime they did not commit.
The only benefit of being held for a crime I did not commit is myself, and I think other innocent people, have an insight into defendants, that is, what an innocent person looks like, behaviorally.
As a former Alaskan, there is a dire shortage of women up there, and even less knockouts. This poor victim, his letter made no sense. Thank God the appeals court was bright enough to see that.
Good luck, Mechele. Get a cracker jack attorney for the retrial.
Getting your hair done always feels good, I can't imagine how wonderful it must feel to you right now....enjoy!
Am I reading this latest post to mean that Mechele is out of prison?
Hi Mechele
I am so happy for you. However I wish that you could be back in your own home with your family. The restrictions seems so harsh. I first remember hearing about this terrible ordeal in People magazine, while my husband and I were on a trip. I was so saddened by the media reports and the pain inflicted on you and your family.
I had a thought, would you consider writing to Gerry Spence, who is quite a well known criminal defense attorney and seeing if he might get involved? His home is in Wyoming and I know he has done a great deal of pro bono work. i was impressed with my one meeting with him. Only a thought as it is so unfair what you have experienced. My are in my daily prayers. diana

I have recently saw your case.It is very alarming that someone could be prosecuted over there past.I have a theory of my own, a scorned man who planned a suicide. I am a former dancer who is now married with children earning a degree.I remember the mistakes I made back then.I am very happy to see you home with your family where you belong. You have an amazing husband who loves you for all that you are.Never look back just foward. Love and best wishes to you and your family. Ameniah Jarvie
I take Anchorage for granted. Thank you for the refreshing look at it!
Haircuts are great-- hair stylists do more for a person in 2 hours than a psychologist in six sessions!
Mechele, we got your postcard about The Sweet Potato Queens. That was so sweet of you. Hope you liked the other books too. The postcard was dated the same day they released you! We're pulling for you. I'd be happy to get you some more books, but now you need a Kindle instead of paperbacks. But set up a Wish List on Amazon again if you need anything.
I realize that on this site you just want possitive comments. So please do not take this as a negative, but, reading the new shortly after Mechele was released the newspaper indicated that Mechele wanted two things from the media, 1) Don't diclose her address and 2) Don't provide her daugters name. My question is, why in most every thing written in this blog by both Mechele and Sandy are mentioning the child by her name if you did not want it published? Thanks
I decided to post you well wishes and hopes because i saw a re-play of a show about you and this time i saw it totaly different, i wish you all the best in your future.cat
any updates?
Any updates?
Mechele,
This is Talia from the 1-23. I don't know if you remember me or not but my husband and I were in Germany at the time of this incident. I heard about it on tv when we got back to the states and was so surprised that anyone would think that you could be that malicious. I am soo happy to hear that you are at least with your family if not in olympia. I know Audrey is glad to have her mommy back. I wish you the best and you are in my prayers. Talia Hill
Oh sweetheart, enjoy those "little things" life has to offer and that we all take for granted. You deserve every little bit of joy coming your way. Hugs from California!
Mechele, so glad that you are out and it is so good to hear you positive and humorous words. I am still thinking about you and wish you the best!
