Just a quick update...the State of Alaska has until Feb. 23 to declare their attentions to the Appeals Court. So, we are waiting for that. In the meantime, I have faxed all your letters to both the District Atty as well as the Atty General's office. In the meantime, since some of your letters were written before the Appeals decision, if you want to write another letter, or if you didn't write one before, or if you just have comments you want to relay to them, I am publishing both offices and their phone and fax numbers: Daniel S. Sulllivan, Attorney General, fax 907-465-2075 phone 907-465-2133. Adrienne P. Bachman, District Attorney, fax 907-269-6321, phone 907-269-6300. I want to also thank Laouida M.Dunn for her generous offer to help us with bail. There really are angels walking the earth and she is one!!!! With our prayers and positive thinking we will have our Mechele home soon!!! As always, thanks to everyone!!

5 more days for the "wonderful" state of Alaska to make up their minds... Seems like an eternity, but in comparison to the time that has gone by already, it's just the blink of an eye... Of course, it still isnt quick enough to get her home where she belongs!
It's nice to hear there's a firm deadline. Here's hoping they just decide to drop the case and let Mechele go home!

Congratulations from Spain, it's good!!, she didn't deserve that. She must to be in her home with her family, a great hug
This whole ordeal is unbelievable! I am sending love and positive thoughts to Mechele and all of you who have supported her. No more wasting of time or tax dollars to prosecute an innocent woman! Thank you Sandy for keeping the faith and keeping us posted. Colin you are an amazing husband and hopefully your nightmare is nearly over for your family. Let's get that girl home!
I've always believed in you Mechele!

I saw the Dept. of Law's decision today to re-prosecute, and I'm extremely disappointed and saddened for you and Mechele. I hope this next trial is a fair one, however, and ends with Mechele home and safe.
I'm pretty sure I heard a collective groan throughout Anchorage when this news hit the 'Net. I'm so sorry your family has to go through this again. If the evidence wasn't "overwhelming" before, how will it be in a new trial? Seriously, this should have been overturned and ended. Politics, anyone?
Will Mechele have to pay for a 2nd defense? Doesn't seem fair considering the prosecution will be paid for with taxpayer monies.
